“Megamind” Stops “Unstoppable” at Box Office

“Megamind” has pulled off another box office victory. The animated comedy featuring the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey and Brad Pitt, pulled in another $30 million dollars over the weekend to maintain its top standing at the movie box office and bring its two-week total to $89.8 million dollars. Opening in second place this weekend was the new Denzel Washington-Chris Pine out-of-control train thriller “Unstoppable.” The film rang up $23.5 million dollars in ticket sales in its first weekend in theaters. The Robert Downey, Jr.-Zach Galifianakis comedy “Due Date” was third with $15.3 million dollars in ticket sales while the new sci-fi thriller “Skyline” opened in fourth place with $11.7 million. Rounding out the top five is the Rachel McAdams-Harrison Ford comedy “Morning Glory.” The film opened at number five with 9.6 million dollars in box office receipts.
